Botswana Biza Mupulu Artist musician
When he arrived here during the early '90s Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)-born, Biza Mupulu was an instant hit with local kwasa- kwasa fans.
He joined Alfredo Mos and Africa Sounds and became the band's celebrity dancer and back-up singer with his stage antics and fashionable clothes.

Years later, very little was heard of the man and when he resurfaced he was now going by the name Dr Biza and released two albums, which were all flops. He disappeared again only to pop up as a member of Extra Melody, which is still to convince the masses that it has what it takes to compete in the crowded kwasa-kwasa arena. The band, which was formed more than five years ago, has not really captured any significant following yet.
Perhaps it was against this background that Mupulu decided to go solo again with the release of Ba Ipotsa Ka Nna and if early success is any yardstick, then his decision may turn out to be the best one.
"I have been in this country for 14 years now and I have seen it all having worked with the best like Alfredo and taking time with Extra Melody. This is my third album alone and unlike the other two, which failed to take me any further, I believe I have got things right this time around," Mupulu said confidently.
